The Eyes Have It

Many years ago my then girlfriend Tess gave me a calendar equiped with days but no year. When I looked at it earlier today (in light of recent events) today's quote seems appropriate for what I'm now going through: "A life isn't significant except for its impact on other lives."

As I now listen to Justin Timberlake's song "Love Stoned" I think I might just understand my nephew's choice.

It's about a seeing into a person's soul, and in the quoted words of my first love, "The eyes are the pathways to the soul." Maybe I need to clean out my contacts list. Maybe I need to stop looking too deeply. Maybe I need a hobby besides blogging (or to move somewhere besides Iowa), but I think I understand.
